Trekking Destinations
Crater Highlands Trek
The crater highlands of Ngorongoro form a lush chain of mountains and volcanoes, starting at the world famous caldera, and ending at the active volcano, Oldoinyo Lengai.

The Highlands Trek takes hikers over these rolling hills, passing by herds of wildebeest and zebra, stalked by stealthy jackals.
This journey gives visitors a deep insight into Maasai living, as this expanse is populated by the Maasai tribes-people and their cattle. A unique and priceless feature of this land is the harmonious relationship between the Maasai and wildlife, which has endured in Ngorongoro for centuries.
Crater Highlands Trek includes a game drive in the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, 3-4 days of trekking, and an optional attempt at summiting Oldoinyo Lengai.
Oldoinyo Lengai
Located in Maasai Land, with the salts fields of Lake Natron at its base, Oldoinyo Lengai towers over the surrounding khaki landscape.

Oldoinyo Lengai is the only active volcano in the Grigory rift valley of East Africa, and the only active carbonatite volcano in the world. The climb is undertaken overnight to escape the African sun, and climbers experience the thrill of the sunrise over the rift valley escarpment.
An experienced mountain guide will lead you to the summit, tracking switchbacks through the lava channels and volcanic ash. Views of Kilimanjaro, Mt Meru, Ngorongoro Highlands and Maasai Plains are outstanding.
Udzungwa
Udzungwa National park is located West of Dar es Salaam, and this chain has a maximum height of 2576m. Highlights of this this lush park include many primates, such as Vervet Monkeys, and the spotting of small antelope. There is rich botanical diversity, which sustains voluminous species of birds.
Trekking at Udzungwa offers amazing views, towards the gigantic Selous Game Reserve and to the Indian Ocean.
Trekking here is peaceful as there are no vehicle roads within the park.
Five distinct trails cover the forests and peaks within the park, and vary in their level of difficulty. From beginners to experienced trekkers, anyone can enjoy the serenity of hiking at Udzungwa.
Usambara @ Lushoto
The Usambara Mountains are in Eastern Tanzania, with trails traversing the many hills, valleys and mountain peaks.
The western and Eastern ranges are separated by a valley, 4km wide, which is showered with small villages and farms.
It is possible to hike just for the day, or plan a trek including camping overnight. This park is home to some of the most concentrated areas of biodiversity in Africa, amazing birdlife, and vistas as far as the Indian Ocean.
Mt. Hanang
Located some 200 km southwest of Arusha, Mt. Hanang is a unique 2 day trek in Tanzania. This extinct volcano is a stunning feature, as it rises above the rippling plains.
