  • Game drives mean spending many hours riding in the car; conditions can be hot and dusty!
  • Dresses / skirts (knee length and longer)
  • Pants / capris / long shorts
  • T-shirts or blouses
  • Tank tops
  • Long pants (protection from sun and mosquitos)
  • Fleece or sweater (evenings can be chilly)
  • Light long sleeved shirt (sun and mosquito protection)
  • Socks
  • Rain jacket
  • A nice dinner outfit
  • Bathing suit

Everything Else

  • Lightweight, fast drying towel
  • Sandals
  • Sneakers
  • Sleeping bag / light blanket
  • Nail brush / scrubber
  • Camera (extra batteries and memory cards)
  • Sun Hat
  • Sunscreen / after sun cream
  • Sunglasses
  • Money belt
  • Anti-malarial and other medications or first aid kit
  • Personal cosmetics
  • Insect repellent
  • Journal / pens
  • Voltage converter (multi-sockets are available here – they are 5$. They allow you to plug in you appliance, but do not actually convert voltage. They work, but heating appliances tend to get way too hot)
  • Snacks such as granola bars, dried fruit, nuts, etc. (chocolate bars usually melt by the time you unpack!)
  • Photocopies of important documents: flights, insurance, passport, identification, bank cards, etc.
  • Mosquito nets are provided
  • Flashlight/ headlamp & Batteries
  • Earplugs
  • Battery operated alarm clock

* Camping on the Ngorongoro Crater can be quite cold. If this is part of your itinerary pack a coat, hat and warm sleeping bag!
