PLAYGROUND- Final phase: Grand Opening!

The grand opening of the Sue & Martin Parnell Playground was this week and it was a great success. The video literally brought Sue, Martin & me to tears. We can’t say thank you enough to everyone that made this happen; but the smiles on the children’s faces speak much louder than words.

The nearest playground was approximately 130 km away and most children had never played on one. The importance of play and activity on the development children cannot be underestimated. Funded by Sue & Martin Parnell, built by Boma Africa, this project was a great success!

We are hoping the bouncy can be used at various events and locations and serve as a source of income for the LK Kindergarten classroom.

I personally spent many many hours playing on playgrounds as a child, and I love anticipating how many years this playground will be a fixture in the lives of the children of Mto wa Mbu.
