PLAYGROUND phase 3- Installation

Sue and Martin Parnell fundraised over $12 000 to provide an area for play for the children of Mto wa Mbu.  The playground is being installed at the LK Kindergarten (funded by the Lindsay Kimmet Memorial Foundation).

Phase 3 of the playground project was installation at the site. First the area was chosen and cleared. The land at the Boma site is along the Rift Valley wall and is very rocky so the rocks had to be dug up (by hand!).  Phase 2 was designing the structures and having them made a the welding shop. Now onto Phase 3- transporting the pieces up to the playground site and assembling!  The kids were starting to get very curious and excited but were told they weren’t allowed to play until everything was ready!
